2012-09: Bishop, CA

My daddy and I drove to Bishop, CA on Sep 15, 2012 for an overnight hiking trip.

I can't remember exactly how long, but the drive was long!  When we arrived at Bishop, we got our hiking permit from the Ranger station.  After parking the car at South Lake, we started to hike.

On the way to our camp site, we saw a hiker that had two dogs, and one ran away but later the lady found him.  When we arrived at South Lake, we stopped for lunch and had trail mix, apples and salami.  After lunch, we hiked toward Bishop Pass, but I was tired because I did not sleep in the car, so we turned back and camped at Long Lake.

For dinner, I had strawberry milk and macaroni.  Daddy had macaroni too!

After dinner, daddy took pictures and I listed to my iPod.  I had to keep listening to my iPod because daddy kept making promises that he would be back in five minutes but he kept going back to take more pictures.  We went to sleep and woke up in the middle of the night to see stars, but we saw frost on the top of our tent that was sparkling like stars.  I tried to take a picture of the frost on the tent but we have a yellow tent so the picture turned out to just be the yellow roof.

We woke up in the morning and hiked back to the car and took more pictures.  I took video and pictures with my mini camera.

As we were driving to the next location we saw a bike race with racers that were very, very fast!  After the bike race we went to have linner (lunch-dinner) in Bishop.  During linner, we decided that we should go to Ancient Bristle Pine Cone Forest, and see the oldest trees in the world.  Some of the trees are over 4,000 years old!!!!

On the way to Bristle Pine I got to drive mommy's 4Runner which was scary but fun!  When we arrived, we took pictures and we saw a huge mountain hare/rabbit.

Then we drove to White Mountain trail head and slept in the car.  In the morning, we started hiking before sunrise but for me it was really cold.  Even after the sun came out I was still cold so we turned back.  So we drove home and that was the end of our trip to Bishop.
